TRAINING
The medics who are trusted with your life are state licensed Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics.  The EMT's have completed a rigorous 240 hour or more of instructions.  The Paramedics have completed EMT training as well as a additional year of classroom and clinical experience.  They have required training that Morristown EMS mandates to work for our service.  The Paramedics are required to have Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Basic Trauma Life Support, and they are updated every six months on advanced airway procedures.  EMT's are required to have Basic trauma Life Support and Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals.  Everyone is required to take CPR and a Vehicle driving course.  These professional emergency medical providers are capable of handling anything from severe trauma to heart attacks and wrecks, while caring for patients enroute to the nearest trauma center or emergency room.

Quality Assurance and continuing education are the means by which we keep our knowledge up to date and our skills fresh.  Each EMT and Paramedic must attend monthly inservice training in addition to requalifying and recertification of credentials to maintain licensure as an EMS provider.  Emergency room physicians and trauma surgeons lecture throughout the year at the inservice training.  This, along with symposiums, conferences, and workshops are the means by which we achieve our high level of expertise.
